बहुविधयोगाध्यायः
The complete The Manifold Yogas (Gajakesarī, Lakṣmī and others) chapter of the Bṛhat-Pārāśara-Horāśāstra — all 22 verses, each in the original Sanskrit with VedicSpace's clean-room English translation, cited by śloka. Translated from the Chaukhamba (Devachandra Jha) edition and audited against the printed plates.
Śloka 1 — Śubha- and aśubha-yoga defined: benefics/malefics in the lagna, and likewise in the 2nd and 12th bhāvas
पराशर उवाच— योगौ लग्नगते सौम्येऽसौम्ये सति शुभाशुभौ । तदेवं क्रमशो योगौ सौम्यासौम्यैर्व्ययार्थगैः ॥ १ ॥
Parāśara said: When a saumya (benefic) graha occupies the lagna, the yoga formed is śubha (auspicious); when an asaumya (malefic) occupies it, the yoga is aśubha (inauspicious). In just the same way, and in that same order, the two yogas [śubha and aśubha] arise from benefics and malefics placed in the vyaya (12th) and artha (2nd) bhāvas.

When Jupiter stands in a kendra from the lagna or from the Moon, and is conjoined with or aspected by benefics, this is the Gajakesarī-yoga; it is not [formed] when he stands in debilitation, in combustion, or in the ripu (sixth) house. (3) One born under Gajakesarī becomes lustrous with vigour and wealthy; he is of keen intellect, endowed with good qualities, and a man who is dear to (a favourite of) the king. (4)
