The complete Chapter on the Antardaśās within the Mahādaśā of Bhauma (Mars) chapter of the Bṛhat-Pārāśara-Horāśāstra — all 30 verses, each in the original Sanskrit with VedicSpace's clean-room English translation, cited by śloka. Translated from the Chaukhamba (Devachandra Jha) edition and audited against the printed plates.

Śloka 1-2 — Mars antardaśā in Mars daśā — auspicious placement

O best of the twice-born (Maitreya)! When, within the daśā of Kuja, the antardaśā of Bhauma arrives, if [Mars] stands in a kendra or a koṇa, or in the 11th joined with benefics, or in the 3rd, or in the 2nd, and is joined with the lord of the lagna — there is splendour through the favour of the king, marks of Lakṣmī's sidelong glance, and the recovery of lost kingdom and wealth.

BPHS Adhyāya 55, śloka 1-2

Śloka 3-4 — Mars in ucca / svakṣetra / own aṃśa and strong

[There is] contentment from a son's birth-festivity and the like, and a house crowded with a herd of cattle. When Bhauma is in his ucca, or in his own rāśi, or in his own aṃśa, and endowed with strength — there is increase of house and land, happiness arising from cows, buffaloes and the like, and, through the favour of the great king, the fulfilment of desires, which brings comfort.

BPHS Adhyāya 55, śloka 3-4

Śloka 5-6 — Mars in 8th or 12th, afflicted by pāpagrahas

When Bhauma is in the 8th or the 12th, joined with or aspected by malefics — there is disease such as strangury, an excess of affliction, and fear from a sore. There is torment from thieves, snakes and the king, and destruction of wealth, grain and cattle. But if [Mars] is lord of the 2nd or the 7th, there is dullness of body and sickness of mind.

BPHS Adhyāya 55, śloka 5-6

Śloka 7 — Remedy for the Mars antardaśā affliction

For the removal of that fault one should have the japa of Rudra performed, and should give away an ox, for the cessation of the Kuja-doṣa.

BPHS Adhyāya 55, śloka 7

Śloka 8-9 — Rāhu antardaśā in Mars daśā — auspicious placement

When, within the daśā of Kuja, the antardaśā of Rāhu arrives — [Rāhu] being in his ucca, in his mūlatrikoṇa, or placed in a kendra, the 11th, or a koṇa, and [therewith] joined with benefics or aspected by benefics — at that time there is honour from the king, the coming of house and land and the like, gain of wife and sons, and abundant fruit from business.

[There is also] the obtaining of the fruit of bathing in the Gaṅgā, and journeying to a foreign land. When Rāhu is in the 8th or the 12th, joined with or aspected by malefics — there is fear from thieves, snakes and sores, destruction of four-footed livestock, fear from disorders of vāta and pitta, and confinement in prison.

BPHS Adhyāya 55, śloka 10-11

Śloka 12-13 — Rāhu in 2nd or 7th; remedy

When Rāhu is in the house of wealth [the 2nd], there is destruction of wealth and great fear; and when he is in the 7th too, there is great fear of untimely death. One should perform the worship of the Nāgas and the honouring of the gods and brāhmaṇas, and should have the Mṛtyuñjaya japa done, for the securing of long life and health.

When [Jupiter] stands in a kendra rāśi from the daśā lord, or in a koṇa, or in the 11th, joined with the lords of the 9th and the 10th, or joined with the lord of the 4th [the vehicle-house], or joined with the lord of the lagna, and placed in an auspicious aṃśa and an auspicious varga — there is increase of house and land, auspiciousness and prosperity in the home, health of body, wide renown, the gathering of a herd of cattle at home, gain of four-footed livestock, and abundant fruit from business.

[There is] happiness from wife and sons, and the splendour of royal honour. But when Jīva is in the 6th, 8th or 12th, or is debilitated, or combust, or joined with or aspected by a malefic graha, or weak — there arises fear from thieves, snakes and the king, the onset of pitta-diseases and the like, affliction by pretas, loss of servants, and the destruction of brothers. And if [Jupiter] is lord of the 2nd or the 7th, there will be untimely death, fever and so forth. For the removal of that fault one should recite the thousand names of Śiva.

When [the Moon] is debilitated or in an enemy's sign, or in the 8th or the 6th, that is, in the 6th or the 8th from the daśā lord — there is death, hardship for wife and sons, and great destruction; loss of cattle and grain, and fear from thieves and from battle. But if he is lord of the 2nd or the 7th, there will be untimely death, dullness of body and sorrow of mind. One should undertake the japa of Durgā and Lakṣmī, and should give a white cow and a buffalo; by this one may declare health.
