Śloka 1 — Budha antardaśā in Budha daśā — auspicious results (Budha in ucca etc.)

मुक्ताविद्रुमलाभश्च ज्ञानकर्मसुखादिकम् । विद्यामहत्त्वं कीर्तिश्च नूतनप्रभुदर्शनम् ॥ १ ॥

Gain of pearls and coral; knowledge, [successful] action, comfort and the like; eminence in learning, and fame; and the meeting with a new lord (patron/ruler).

Śloka 2 — Budha antardaśā — further good results, then the switch to the afflicted condition

विभवो दारपुत्रादि-पितृमातृभवं सुखम् । तुङ्गेऽस्तेऽथ नीचस्थे षष्ठाष्टव्ययराशिगे ॥ २ ॥

Affluence; happiness arising from wife, sons and the rest, and from father and mother. [But] when [Budha is] in ucca — [read: when he is] combust, or placed in nīca, or gone to the sixth, eighth or twelfth rāśi —

Śloka 3 — Budha antardaśā — results when Budha is afflicted

पापयुक्तेऽथवा दृष्टे धनधान्यपशुक्षयः । आत्मबन्धुविरोधश्च शूलरोगादिसम्भवः ॥ ३ ॥

— or [when Budha is] joined with malefics, or aspected [by them]: loss of wealth, grain and cattle; enmity with one's own kinsmen; and the arising of colic and similar diseases.

Śloka 4 — Budha antardaśā — royal-service distress; Budha as lord of 2nd/7th

राजकार्यकलापेन व्याकुलत्वं प्रजायते । द्वितीयद्यूननाथे तु दारक्लेशो भविष्यति ॥ ४ ॥

Agitation arises through the whole train of royal (governmental) business. But when [Budha] is lord of the second or of the seventh (dyūna), affliction to the wife will occur.

Śloka 5 — Maraka result and its remedy for Budha antardaśā

आत्मसम्बन्धिमरणं भवेदेव न संशयः । तद्दोषपरिहारार्थं विष्णुसाहस्रकं जपेत् ॥ ५ ॥

The death of one's own relative will indeed occur — there is no doubt of it. To avert that doṣa one should recite the Viṣṇu-sahasra[nāma].

Śloka 6 — Ketu antardaśā in Budha daśā — benefic configuration

बुधस्यान्तर्गते केतौ लग्नात् केन्द्रत्रिकोणगे । शुभयुक्ते शुभैर्दृष्टे लग्नाधिपसमन्विते ॥ ६ ॥

When, within [the daśā] of Budha, Ketu holds the antardaśā and is placed in a kendra or koṇa from the lagna, joined with benefics, aspected by benefics, and accompanied by the lord of the lagna —

Śloka 7 — Ketu antardaśā — yogakāraka link and results

योगकारकसम्बन्धे दायेशात् केन्द्रलाभगे । देहसौख्यं धनाढ्यत्वं बन्धुस्नेहादिकं भवेत् ॥ ७ ॥

[Or] when [Ketu] is in relation with the yogakāraka, and is placed in a kendra or in the eleventh (lābha) from the daśā-lord: there will be bodily comfort, richness in wealth, affection of kinsmen and the like.

Śloka 8 — Ketu antardaśā — further benefic results

चतुष्पाज्जीवलाभः स्यात् संचारेण धनागमः । विद्याकीर्तिप्रसङ्गश्च समानं प्रभुदर्शनम् ॥ ८ ॥

There will be gain of four-footed livestock; income of wealth through travel; occasions of learning and of fame; and, likewise, the meeting with a lord (ruler).

Śloka 9 — Ketu antardaśā — close of the benefic results; onset of the malefic condition

भोजनाम्बरसौख्यं स्यादादौ मध्ये सुखावहम् । दायेशादष्टमे किंवा व्यये वा पापसंयुते ॥ ९ ॥

There will be the comfort of food and clothing; at the beginning and in the middle [of the antardaśā] it is a bringer of happiness. But if [Ketu], standing in the eighth from the daśā-lord, or else in the twelfth, is joined with malefics —

Śloka 10 — Ketu antardaśā — malefic results

वाहनात् पतनं चैव पुत्रक्लेशादि सम्भवेत् । चौरादिराजभीतिश्च पापकर्मरतिः सदा ॥ १० ॥

A fall from a vehicle may occur, and affliction to sons and the like; fear from thieves and others and from the king; and constant delight in sinful deeds.

Śloka 11 — Ketu antardaśā — further malefic results

वृश्चिकादिविषाद् भीतिर्नीचैः सह कलिस्तथा । शोकरोगादिदुःखं च भवेन्नीचादिसङ्गतिः ॥ ११ ॥

Fear from the poison of scorpions and such creatures; and quarrels with base people; sorrow, disease and other suffering; and association with the base.

Śloka 12 — Ketu as lord of 2nd/7th, and the remedy

द्वितीयद्यूननाथे तु देहजाड्यं भविष्यति । तद्दोषपरिहारार्थं छागदानं तु कारयेत् ॥ १२ ॥

But when [Ketu is] lord of the second or of the seventh, torpor of the body will occur. To avert that doṣa one should have the gift of a goat made.

Śloka 13 — Śukra antardaśā in Budha daśā — benefic placement

सौम्यस्यान्तर्गते शुक्रे केन्द्रे लाभे त्रिकोणगे । सत्कथापुण्यधर्मादि-संग्रहः पुण्यकर्म च ॥ १३ ॥

When, within [the daśā] of Saumya (Budha), Śukra holds the antardaśā and is placed in a kendra, in the eleventh (lābha), or in a koṇa: there is engagement in holy discourse, meritorious duty and the like, and meritorious action.

Śloka 14 — Śukra antardaśā — results, and placement reckoned from the daśā-lord

मित्रप्रभुवशादिष्टं क्षेत्रलाभः सुखं भवेत् । दशाधिपात् केन्द्रगते त्रिकोणे लाभगेऽपि वा ॥ १४ ॥

What is desired comes about through friends and through a lord (patron); there will be gain of land and happiness. And when [Śukra] is placed in a kendra from the lord of the daśā, or in a koṇa, or in the eleventh —

Śloka 15 — Śukra antardaśā — wealth, royal favour, public works

तत्काले तु श्रियः प्राप्ती राजश्रीधनसम्पदः । वापीकूपतडागादि-दानधर्मादिसंग्रहः ॥ १५ ॥

— at that time there is attainment of prosperity, of royal splendour and of wealth and property; the undertaking of step-wells, wells, tanks and the like, and of charity, religious duty and so forth.

Śloka 16 — Śukra antardaśā — close of benefic results; the weak/dusthāna condition

व्यवसायात् फलाधिक्यं धनधान्यसमृद्धयः । दायेशात् षष्ठरन्ध्रस्थे व्यये वा बलवर्जिते ॥ १६ ॥

Excess of fruit from enterprise (business); abundance of wealth and grain. [But] when [Śukra] is placed in the sixth or the eighth (randhra) from the daśā-lord, or in the twelfth, or is devoid of strength —

Śloka 17 — Śukra antardaśā — malefic results

हृद्रोगो मानहानिश्च ज्वरातीसारपीडनम् । आत्मबन्धुवियोगश्च संसारे स्यान्न संशयः ॥ १७ ॥

Heart disease and loss of honour; affliction by fever and dysentery; and separation from one's own kinsmen — such will be [his lot] in the world; there is no doubt.

Śloka 18 — Śukra antardaśā — personal distress; Śukra as lord of 2nd/7th

आत्मकष्टं मनस्ताप आपद्धायादतो भवेत् । द्वितीयद्यूननाथे तु ह्यपमृत्युर्भविष्यति ॥ १८ ॥

There will be personal suffering, mental anguish, and calamity arising from co-heirs. But when [Śukra is] lord of the second or of the seventh, untimely death (apamṛtyu) will occur.

Śloka 19 — Remedy closing Śukra antardaśā; Sūrya antardaśā — benefic placement

तद्दोषपरिहारार्थं दुर्गादेवीजपं चरेत् । सौम्यस्यान्तर्गते सूर्ये स्वोच्चे स्वक्षेत्रकेन्द्रगे ॥ १९ ॥

To avert that doṣa one should perform japa of the goddess Durgā. When, within [the daśā] of Saumya (Budha), Sūrya holds the antardaśā and is in his ucca, in his svakṣetra, or in a kendra —

Śloka 20 — Sūrya antardaśā — further benefic placements and results

त्रिकोणे धनलाभे तु तुङ्गांशे स्वांशगेऽपि वा । राजप्रसादसौभाग्यं मित्रप्रभुवशात् सुखम् ॥ २० ॥

— or in a koṇa, in the second (dhana) or the eleventh (lābha), or in his exaltation-aṃśa or his own aṃśa: [there is] good fortune through royal favour, and happiness through friends and through a lord (patron).

Śloka 21 — Sūrya antardaśā — aspect conditions

भूम्यात्मजेन संदृष्टे चादौ भूलाभसम्भवः । लग्नाधिपेन संदृष्टे बहुसौख्यं धनागमः ॥ २१ ॥

And when [Sūrya is] aspected by the son of the Earth (Maṅgala), gain of land may occur at the beginning [of the antardaśā]; when aspected by the lord of the lagna, [there is] much comfort and income of wealth.

Śloka 22 — Sūrya antardaśā — close of benefic results; the afflicted condition

ग्रामभूम्यादिलाभश्च भोजनाम्बरयोः सुखम् । तनो रन्ध्रे व्यये वापि शन्यारफणिसंयुते ॥ २२ ॥

And gain of a village, of land and the like; the comfort of food and clothing. [But when Sūrya is] in the eighth (randhra) from the tanu (lagna), or else in the twelfth, joined with Śani, Maṅgala (āra) or Rāhu (phaṇi) —

Śloka 23 — Sūrya antardaśā — malefic results

दायेशाद्रिपुरन्ध्रस्थे व्यये वा बलवर्जिते । चौराग्निशस्त्रपीडा च पित्ताधिक्यं भविष्यति ॥ २३ ॥

[Or when Sūrya is] placed in the sixth (ripu) or eighth (randhra) from the daśā-lord, or in the twelfth, or devoid of strength: there will be affliction from thieves, fire and weapons, and an excess of pitta.

Śloka 24 — Sūrya antardaśā — further malefic results; Sūrya as lord of 2nd/7th

शिरोरुङ्मनसस्ताप इष्टबन्धुवियोजनम् । द्वितीयसप्तमाधीशे ह्यपमृत्युर्भविष्यति ॥ २४ ॥

Headache and mental anguish; separation from a dear kinsman. And when [Sūrya is] lord of the second or the seventh, untimely death will occur.

Śloka 25 — Remedy for Sūrya antardaśā

तद्दोषपरिहारार्थं शान्तिं कुर्याद्यथाविधि । सूर्यप्रीतिकरीं धेनुं दद्याच्चैव हिरण्यकम् ॥ २५ ॥

To avert that doṣa one should perform a śānti according to the prescribed rite, and should give a cow that pleases Sūrya, and gold as well.

Śloka 26 — Candra antardaśā in Budha daśā — benefic placement

सौम्यस्यान्तर्गते चन्द्रे लग्नात् केन्द्रत्रिकोणगे । स्वोच्चे वा स्वर्क्षगे वापि गुरुदृष्टिसमन्विते ॥ २६ ॥

When, within [the daśā] of Saumya (Budha), Candra holds the antardaśā and is placed in a kendra or koṇa from the lagna, or in his ucca, or in his own rāśi, and is furnished with the aspect of Guru —

Śloka 27 — Candra antardaśā — strength of the yoga and its results

योगस्थानाधिपत्येन योगप्राबल्यमादिशेत् । स्त्रीलाभं पुत्रलाभश्च वाहनाम्बरभूषणम् ॥ २७ ॥

By [Candra's] lordship of a yoga-giving house one should declare the strength of the yoga: gain of a wife and gain of sons, vehicles, garments and ornaments.

Śloka 28 — Candra antardaśā — further benefic results

नूतनालयलाभं च नित्यं मिष्टान्नभोजनम् । गीतवाद्यप्रसङ्गं च शास्त्रविद्यापरिश्रमम् ॥ २८ ॥

And the gain of a new dwelling; the daily eating of sweet food; occasions of song and instrumental music; and exertion in the learning of the śāstras.

Śloka 29 — Candra antardaśā — southward travel, overseas cloth

दक्षिणां दिशमाश्रित्य प्रयाणं च भविष्यति । द्वीपान्तरादिवस्त्राणां लाभश्चैव भविष्यति ॥ २९ ॥

A journey taking to the southern direction will occur; and gain of cloths from other islands (overseas lands) and the like will occur.

Śloka 30 — Candra antardaśā — gems; then the afflicted condition

मुक्ताविद्रुमरत्नानि धौतवस्त्रादिमाप्नुयात् । नीचादिक्षेत्रसंयुक्ते देहबाधा भविष्यति ॥ ३० ॥

He may obtain pearls, coral and gems, washed (bleached) garments and the like. [But] when [Candra is] joined with a nīca or similar [inauspicious] sign, bodily affliction will occur.

Śloka 31 — Candra antardaśā — good placement from the daśā-lord

दायेशात् केन्द्रकोणस्थे दुश्चिक्ये लाभगेऽपि वा । तद्भुक्त्यादौ पुण्यतीर्थस्नानदैवतदर्शनम् ॥ ३१ ॥

When [Candra is] placed in a kendra or koṇa from the daśā-lord, or in the third (duścikya), or in the eleventh: at the beginning of that bhukti [there is] bathing at holy tīrthas and the sight of deities.

Śloka 32 — Candra antardaśā — further results; the malefic condition

मनोधैर्यं हृदुत्साहो धनलाभो विदेशतः । दायेशात् षष्ठरन्ध्रे वा व्यये वा पापसंयुते ॥ ३२ ॥

Firmness of mind, enthusiasm in the heart, gain of wealth from a foreign country. [But when Candra is] in the sixth or eighth from the daśā-lord, or in the twelfth, or joined with malefics —

Śloka 33 — Candra antardaśā — malefic results

चौराग्निनृपभीतिश्च स्त्रीसङ्गतिवशाद् भवेत् । दुष्कीर्तिर्धेनहानिश्च कृषिपश्वादिनाशनम् ॥ ३३ ॥

Fear from thieves, fire and the king; [misfortune] arising through the company of women; ill-repute and loss of wealth; and destruction of crops, cattle and the like.

Śloka 34 — Candra as lord of 2nd/7th; remedy

द्वितीयद्यूननाथे तु देहबाधा भविष्यति । तद्दोषपरिहारार्थं दुर्गादेवीजपं चरेत् ॥ ३४ ॥

But when [Candra is] lord of the second or of the seventh, bodily affliction will occur. To avert that doṣa one should perform japa of the goddess Durgā.

Śloka 35 — Remedy closing Candra antardaśā; Bhauma antardaśā — benefic placement

वस्त्रदानं प्रकुर्वीत, ह्यायुर्वृद्धिसुखावहम् । सौम्यस्यान्तर्गते भौमे लग्नात् केन्द्रत्रिकोणगे ॥ ३५ ॥

One should make a gift of clothes, which brings increase of longevity and happiness. When, within [the daśā] of Saumya (Budha), Bhauma (Maṅgala) holds the antardaśā and is placed in a kendra or koṇa from the lagna —

Śloka 36 — Bhauma antardaśā — further conditions and results

स्वोच्चे वा स्वर्क्षगे चापि लग्नाधिपसमन्विते । राजानुग्रहशान्तिः स्याद् गृहे कल्याणसम्भवः ॥ ३६ ॥

— or in his ucca, or in his own rāśi, and accompanied by the lord of the lagna: there will be peace through the king's favour, and the arising of auspiciousness in the home.

Śloka 37 — Bhauma antardaśā — signs of Lakṣmī's favour

लक्ष्मीकटाक्षचिह्नानि नष्टराज्यार्थलब्धयः । पुत्रोत्सवादिसन्तोषो गृहं गोधनसङ्कुलम् ॥ ३७ ॥

Signs of Lakṣmī's sidelong glance; recovery of a lost kingdom and of lost wealth; joy in the festivities for a son and the like; a house crowded with cattle-wealth.

Śloka 38 — Bhauma antardaśā — further benefic results

गृहक्षेत्रादिलाभश्च गजवाजिसमन्वयः । राजप्रीतिस्तथा सौख्यं स्त्रियश्चातीव शोभनम् ॥ ३८ ॥

Gain of house, land and the like; the acquisition of elephants and horses; the king's affection, and comfort; and exceedingly excellent [fortune] from women.

Śloka 39 — Bhauma antardaśā — afflicted condition

नीचक्षेत्रसमायुक्ते ह्यष्टमे वा व्ययेऽपि वा । पापैर्दृष्टे युते वापि देहपीडा मनोव्यथा ॥ ३९ ॥

When [Maṅgala is] in a nīca sign, or in the eighth, or in the twelfth, or is aspected by or joined with malefics: [there is] bodily pain and mental distress.

Śloka 40 — Bhauma antardaśā — malefic results

उद्योगभंगो देशादौ स्वग्रामे धान्यनाशनम् । ग्रन्थिशस्त्रव्रणादीनां भयं तापज्वरादिकम् ॥ ४० ॥

Collapse of one's undertaking; in the country and one's own village, destruction of grain; fear of tumours, weapon-wounds, sores and the like; burning heat, fever and so forth.

Śloka 41 — Bhauma antardaśā — good placement from the daśā-lord

दायेशात् केन्द्रगे भौमे त्रिकोणे लाभगेऽपि वा । शुभदृष्टे धनप्राप्तिर्देहसौख्यं प्रजायते ॥ ४१ ॥

When Bhauma is placed in a kendra from the daśā-lord, or in a koṇa, or in the eleventh, and is aspected by benefics, attainment of wealth and bodily comfort arise.

Śloka 42 — Bhauma antardaśā — further good results; then the dusthāna condition

पुत्रलाभो यशोवृद्धिर्भ्रातृवर्गे महाप्रियः । दायेशाद्रन्ध्रभावस्थे व्यये वा पापसंयुते ॥ ४२ ॥

Gain of sons, increase of renown, and he is greatly beloved among the circle of brothers. [But when Maṅgala is] placed in the eighth bhāva from the daśā-lord, or in the twelfth, or joined with malefics —

Śloka 43 — Bhauma antardaśā — malefic results

तद्भुक्त्यादौ महाक्लेशो भ्रातृवर्गे महद् भयम् । नृपाग्निचौरभीतिश्च पुत्रमित्रविरोधनम् ॥ ४३ ॥

At the beginning of that bhukti [there is] great distress; great danger to the circle of brothers; fear from the king, from fire and from thieves; and conflict with sons and friends.

Śloka 44 — Bhauma antardaśā — the phased course of the antardaśā

आरम्भे स्थानविभ्रंशो मध्ये सौख्यं धनागमः । अन्ते तु राजभीतिः स्यात् स्थानभ्रंशो ह्यथापि वा ॥ ४४ ॥

At the beginning, loss of position; in the middle, comfort and income of wealth; but at the end there will be fear from the king, or else loss of position.

Śloka 45 — Maṅgala as lord of 2nd/7th; remedy

द्वितीयद्यूननाथे तु ह्यपमृत्युभयं भवेत् । वृषदानं प्रकुर्वीत मृत्युञ्जयजपं चरेत् ॥ ४५ ॥

But when [Maṅgala is] lord of the second or of the seventh, there will be danger of untimely death. One should make the gift of a bull and perform the Mṛtyuñjaya japa.

Śloka 46 — Rāhu antardaśā in Budha daśā — benefic placement

बुधस्यान्तर्गते राहौ केन्द्रलाभत्रिकोणगे । कुलीरे घटगे वापि कन्यायां वृषभेऽपि वा ॥ ४६ ॥

When, within [the daśā] of Budha, Rāhu holds the antardaśā and is placed in a kendra, in the eleventh (lābha), or in a koṇa; or is in Karka (kulīra), in Kumbha (ghaṭa), in Kanyā, or in Vṛṣabha —

Śloka 47 — Rāhu antardaśā — benefic results

राजसम्मानकीर्तिं च प्रचुरं द्रविणं तथा । पुण्यतीर्थस्नानलाभो देवतादर्शनं तथा ॥ ४७ ॥

Honour from the king and fame, and abundant wealth; the boon of bathing at holy tīrthas, and likewise the sight of deities.

Śloka 48 — Rāhu antardaśā — pious works, honour, and the phased course

इष्टापूर्तं च महतो मानो लाभः सुवाससः । भुक्त्यादौ देहपीडा चाप्यन्ते सौख्यं त्रिनिर्दिशेत् ॥ ४८ ॥

Sacrificial and public charitable works (iṣṭāpūrta); honour from a great man; gain of fine garments. At the beginning of the bhukti one should declare bodily pain, but at the end, comfort.

Śloka 49 — Rāhu antardaśā — malefic placement and results

अष्टमव्ययराशिस्थे तद्भुक्तौ धननाशनम् । भुक्त्यादौ देहबाधा चाजीर्णवातज्वरामयाः ॥ ४९ ॥

When [Rāhu is] placed in the eighth or the twelfth rāśi, in that bhukti [there is] destruction of wealth; at the beginning of the bhukti, bodily affliction, and the maladies of indigestion, vāta and fever.

Śloka 50 — Rāhu in an upacaya with benefics

लग्नादुपचये राहौ शुभग्रहसमन्विते । राजसंलापसन्तोषो नूतनप्रभुदर्शनम् ॥ ५० ॥

When Rāhu is in an upacaya from the lagna and is accompanied by benefic grahas: satisfaction through converse with the king, and the meeting with a new lord.

दायेशादष्टमे किं वा व्ययगे पापसंयुते । निष्ठुरं राजकार्याणि स्थानभ्रंशो महद् भयम् ॥ ५१ ॥

Or when [Rāhu is] in the eighth from the daśā-lord, or gone to the twelfth, joined with malefics: harsh dealings in royal (governmental) affairs, loss of position, great fear.

Enthusiasm of heart on account of kinsmen and sons; and auspiciousness attended with wealth; increase of cattle, gain of renown, and the fruit of giving food and the like.

When [Guru is] in the sixth or eighth from the daśā-lord, or in the twelfth, or devoid of strength: burning in the limbs, disability, and bodily affliction will occur.

Discord with wife and kinsmen; the king's wrath; loss of wealth; sudden fear from quarrel; negligence; and strife with the ruler.

Abundance of suffering from enemies; affliction to wife, sons and the rest; failure of judgement; loss of kinsmen; ruin of one's work; and mental distress.

Departure to a foreign land, and the seeing of evil dreams. But when [Śani is] lord of the second or of the seventh, untimely death will occur.
