Śloka 1 — Computation of the prāṇadaśā (sādhana)

स्वदशाब्दहता सूक्ष्मदशापलमितिस्तथा । विंशोत्तरशतेनाप्ता लब्धिः प्राणदशा भवेत् ॥ १ ॥

The measure of the sūkṣmadaśā, reckoned in palas, is multiplied by the daśā-years belonging to (the graha itself); divided by one hundred and twenty, the quotient obtained is the prāṇadaśā.

Śloka 2 — Sun prāṇadaśā in Sun sūkṣmadaśā

(सू. सू.) पौंश्चल्यं विषजा बाधा तस्करानलजा तथा । सूर्यप्राणदशायां तु मरणं कृच्छ्रमादिशेत् ॥ २ ॥

Wantonness; affliction arising from poison, and likewise from thieves and from fire; in the prāṇadaśā of the Sun one should declare death attended with severe distress.

Śloka 3 — Moon prāṇadaśā in Sun sūkṣmadaśā

(सू. चं.) सुखं भोजनसम्पत्तिः संस्कारो नृपवैभवम् । उदाराद्यनुकम्पाभी रवेः प्राणगते विधौ ॥ ३ ॥

When, in the Sun's (sūkṣmadaśā), the Moon holds the prāṇa (daśā): happiness, abundance of food, sacramental rites, and royal splendour through the compassion of the generous and the like.

Śloka 4 — Mars prāṇadaśā in Sun sūkṣmadaśā

(सू. मं.) भूपोपद्रुतिरन्यार्थे द्रव्यनाशो महद् भयम् । महत्यपचयप्राप्ती रवेः प्राणगते कुजे ॥ ४ ॥

When, in the Sun's (sūkṣmadaśā), Mars holds the prāṇa (daśā): harassment by the king on another's account, destruction of goods, great fear, and the incurring of great diminution.

Śloka 5 — Rāhu prāṇadaśā in Sun sūkṣmadaśā

(सू. रा.) अन्नोद्भवा महापीडा विषोत्पत्तिर्विशेषतः । अर्थाग्निराजभिः क्लेशो रवेः प्राणगतेऽप्यहौ ॥ ५ ॥

When, in the Sun's (sūkṣmadaśā), Rāhu holds the prāṇa (daśā): great affliction arising from food, and especially the occurrence of poison; distress through wealth, fire and kings.

When, in the Sun's (sūkṣmadaśā), Jupiter holds the prāṇa (daśā): abundance of manifold learning and wealth; accomplishment of business through comings and goings to the dwellings of kings and brāhmaṇas.

Śloka 7 — Saturn prāṇadaśā in Sun sūkṣmadaśā

(सू. श.) बन्धनं प्राणनाशश्च चित्तोद्वेगस्तथैव च । बहुबाधा महाहानी रवेः प्राणगते शनौ ॥ ७ ॥

When, in the Sun's (sūkṣmadaśā), Saturn holds the prāṇa (daśā): imprisonment, destruction of life, and likewise agitation of mind, many obstructions and great loss.

Śloka 8 — Mercury prāṇadaśā in Sun sūkṣmadaśā

(सू. बु.) राजान्नभोगः सततं राजलाञ्छनतत्पदम् । आत्मानं तर्पयेदेवं रवेः प्राणगते बुधे ॥ ८ ॥

When, in the Sun's (sūkṣmadaśā), Mercury holds the prāṇa (daśā): constant enjoyment of the king's food, royal insignia and that station; thus one satisfies oneself.

(सू. के.) अन्योन्यं कलहश्चैव वसुहानिः पराजयः । गुरुस्त्रीबन्धुभिः सार्धं रवेः प्राणगते ध्वजे ॥ ९ ॥

When, in the Sun's (sūkṣmadaśā), Ketu holds the prāṇa (daśā): mutual quarrelling with elders, wife and kinsmen, loss of wealth, and defeat.

(सू. शु.) राजपूजा धनाधिक्यं स्त्रीपुत्रादिभवं सुखम् । अन्नपानादिभोगाप्तिः सूर्यप्राणगते सिते ॥ १० ॥

When, in the Sun's (sūkṣmadaśā), Venus holds the prāṇa (daśā): honour from the king, abundance of wealth, happiness arising from wife and sons and the like, and the obtaining of enjoyments such as food and drink.

(चं. चं.) योगसिद्धिः समाधिश्च जायासून्वादिजं सुखम् । स्याद् वासो वसुलाभश्च चन्द्रप्राणगते विधौ ॥ ११ ॥

When, in the Moon's (sūkṣmadaśā), the Moon holds the prāṇa (daśā): success in yoga, samādhi, happiness born of wife and sons and the like, clothing, and gain of wealth.

(चं. मं.) क्षयः कुष्ठं बन्धुनाशो रक्तस्रावान्महद् भयम् । भूतावेशादि जायेत चन्द्रप्राणगते कुजे ॥ १२ ॥

When, in the Moon's (sūkṣmadaśā), Mars holds the prāṇa (daśā): consumption, leprosy, loss of kinsmen, great fear from haemorrhage; possession by spirits and the like arises.

(चं. रा.) सर्पभीतिर्विशेषेण भूतानामत्युपद्रवः । दृक्क्षोभो मतिभ्रंशश्चन्द्रप्राणगतेऽप्यहौ ॥ १३ ॥

When, in the Moon's (sūkṣmadaśā), Rāhu holds the prāṇa (daśā): fear of serpents especially, excessive torment from spirits, disturbance of the eyesight, and failure of the understanding.

(चं. गु.) धर्मवृद्धिः भूम्यवासिदेवब्राह्मणपूजनम् । सौभाग्यं प्रियदृष्टिश्च चन्द्रप्राणगते गुरौ ॥ १४ ॥

When, in the Moon's sūkṣma-daśā, Jupiter holds the prāṇa-daśā: growth of dharma, worship of the gods and of the brāhmaṇas who dwell upon the earth, good fortune, and the sight of dear ones.

Śloka 15 — Saturn prāṇadaśā in Moon sūkṣmadaśā

(चं. श.) सहसा देहपतनं शत्रूपद्रववेदना । अन्धता च धनप्राप्तिश्चन्द्रप्राणगते शनौ ॥ १५ ॥

When, in the Moon's (sūkṣmadaśā), Saturn holds the prāṇa (daśā): sudden collapse of the body, suffering from the assaults of enemies, blindness — and gain of wealth.

(चं. सू.) नैष्ठुर्यं क्रोधसंवृद्धिः प्राणहानिर्मनोरुजा । देशत्यागो महाभीतिश्चन्द्रप्राणगते रवौ ॥ १९ ॥

When, in the Moon's (sūkṣmadaśā), the Sun holds the prāṇa (daśā): harshness, increase of anger, danger to life, sickness of mind, abandonment of one's country, and great fear.

Śloka 20 — Mars prāṇadaśā in Mars sūkṣmadaśā

(मं. मं.) भवेत् परजनाद् बन्धः परकीयास्त्रतोऽथवा । निश्चितं मरणं याति भौमप्राणगते कुजे ॥ २० ॥

When, in Mars's (sūkṣmadaśā), Mars holds the prāṇa (daśā): there is captivity at the hands of strangers, or else by another's weapon he assuredly meets death.

(मं. रा.) विच्युतिः सुतदारेभ्यो बन्धूपद्रवपीडनम् । प्राणत्यागो विषेणैव भौमप्राणगतेऽप्यहौ ॥ २१ ॥

When, in Mars's (sūkṣmadaśā), Rāhu holds the prāṇa (daśā): separation from son and wife, torment from the assaults of kinsmen, and the giving up of life by poison itself.

(मं. श.) अग्निदाहाद् भवेन्मृत्युरर्थनाशः पदच्युतिः । बन्धुभिर्बान्धवत्वाप्तिर्भौमप्राणगते शनौ ॥ २३ ॥

When, in Mars's (sūkṣmadaśā), Saturn holds the prāṇa (daśā): death may come from burning by fire; loss of wealth, fall from position, and the winning of kinship-feeling with relatives.

When, in Rāhu's (sūkṣmadaśā), the Sun holds the prāṇa (daśā): fear from haemorrhoids and such ailments, the occurrence of disturbance in the kingdom, and loss of quadrupeds and the like.

When, in Jupiter's (sūkṣmadaśā), Mars holds the prāṇa (daśā): the receiving of poison from womenfolk, imprisonment, excessive punishment, journeying to another country, and confusion of mind.
