Śloka 1 — Opening of the Kālacakra antardaśā chapter; Parāśara addresses Maitreya and names Śiva as the original source of the teaching
अथ मैत्रेय ! ते वच्मि चक्रान्तरदशाफलम् । यदुक्तमखिलं देव्यै स्वयमेव पिनाकिना ॥ १ ॥
Parāśara said: Now, O Maitreya, I declare to you the results of the antardaśās within the [Kāla]cakra daśā — all of which was told to the Goddess by Pinākin (Śiva) himself.

Śloka 2 — Aries (Meṣa) aṃśa daśā — antardaśās of Mars, Mercury, Venus, Moon, Jupiter
अजांशेऽजान्तरे भौमे ज्वरश्च व्रणसम्भवः । बुधशुक्रेन्दुजीवेषु वस्त्राभरणमादिशेत् ॥ २ ॥
In the Aries aṃśa (daśā), when the Aries antara of Mars comes, fever and the outbreak of sores occur. In the antaras of Mercury, Venus, the Moon and Jupiter one should declare (gain of) garments and ornaments.

Śloka 3 — Aries aṃśa — Saturn and Sun antaras; Taurus (Vṛṣa) aṃśa — Saturn antara
शनौ शत्रुभवः क्षोभ आदित्ये तु महद् भयम् । वृषांशकेऽन्तरे स्वीये शनौ रोगस्तथा कलिः ॥ ३ ॥
In (the antara of) Saturn there is agitation caused by enemies; in that of the Sun, great fear. In the Taurus aṃśa, in its own antara sequence, when Saturn (i.e. Saturn's rāśi) comes, there is disease and strife.

Śloka 4 — Taurus aṃśa — Jupiter and Mars antaras
शारीरिकं सुखं विद्यालाभस्तत्र गते गुरौ । देशत्यागश्च मरणं ज्वरः शस्त्रक्षतिस्तथा ॥ ४ ॥
When Jupiter has gone there (into the Taurus aṃśa's antara), there is bodily comfort and acquisition of learning. (And there is) leaving one's country, death, fever, and wounding by a weapon.

Śloka 5 — Taurus aṃśa — Mars antara
वृषभस्वांशके ब्रह्मन् कुजे तत्र गते फलम् । वस्त्राभरणलाभश्च स्त्रियो योगः सुखं भवेत् ॥ ५ ॥
In the Taurus aṃśa, O Brahman (Maitreya), such is the result (of v.4b — exile, death, fever, weapon-wound) when Mars has gone there (into the antara). (And) gain of clothes and ornaments, union with a woman, and happiness [— that is the result in the antaras of Venus, Mercury and the Moon, hooked forward to v.6a].

Śloka 6 — Taurus aṃśa — Venus, Mercury, Moon antaras; Sun antara
शुक्रेन्दुसुतचन्द्रेषु वृषभस्यांशके फलम् । नृपाद् भयं पितृमृतिर्मृगादिभ्यो रवौ भयम् ॥ ६ ॥
Such is the result in (the antaras of) Venus, Mercury and the Moon within the Taurus aṃśa. In (the antara of) the Sun there is fear from the king, the death of the father, and fear from wild beasts and the like.

Śloka 7 — Gemini (Mithuna) aṃśa — Venus antara
मुक्तावस्त्रादिसंलाभो मिथुनस्वांशके भृगौ । मातापित्रोर्मृत्युभीतिर्ज्वरश्च व्रणसम्भवः ॥ ७ ॥
When Venus is in (the antara within) the Gemini aṃśa there is gain of pearls, garments and the like. (There is also) fear of the death of mother and father, fever, and the outbreak of sores.

देशान्तरे प्रयाणं च मिथुनस्वांशके कुजे । विद्याद्रव्यादिसंलाभो महाविभवसंभवः ॥ ८ ॥
When Mars is in (the antara within) the Gemini aṃśa there is travel to another country. (There is also) gain of learning, wealth and the like, and the arising of great opulence.

Śloka 9 — Gemini aṃśa — Jupiter antara
जनप्रीतिश्च सम्मानं मिथुनस्वांशके गुरौ । प्रयाणं च महाव्याधिर्मरणं चार्थनाशनम् ॥ ९ ॥
When Jupiter is in (the antara within) the Gemini aṃśa there is the affection of people and honour. (There is also) travel, grave illness, death, and destruction of wealth.

Śloka 10 — Gemini aṃśa — Saturn antara
बन्धुनाशो भवेदेव मिथुनस्वांशके शनौ । विद्याम्बरादिलाभः स्यात् सूनुदारसुखं तथा ॥ १० ॥
When Saturn is in (the antara within) the Gemini aṃśa there is indeed loss of kinsmen. (There will also be) gain of learning, clothing and the like, and happiness from son and wife.

जनताप्रियतामेति मिथुनस्वांशके बुधे । ऐश्वर्यं धनलाभश्च पुत्रपत्नीसमागमः ॥ ११ ॥
When Mercury is in (the antara within) the Gemini aṃśa one attains the affection of the people. (There is also) lordship, gain of wealth, and union with son and wife.

मनःप्रीतिस्तथा मानं कुलीरस्वांशके विधौ । नृपाद् भयं शत्रुभयं मृगेभ्यश्च महद् भयम् ॥ १२ ॥
When the Moon is in (the antara within) the Cancer aṃśa there is gladness of mind and honour. (There is also) fear from the king, fear from enemies, and great fear from wild animals.

ज्वरव्याधेरपि भयं कुलीरस्वांशके रवौ । विद्यापुत्ररत्नबन्धुसौख्यं मानं तथा यशः ॥ १३ ॥ कुलीरस्वांशके शुक्रबुधयोः संस्थितौ भवेत् ।
When the Sun is in (the antara within) the Cancer aṃśa there is fear even of fever and disease. (There will be) happiness from learning, sons, gems and kinsmen, and honour and fame — this occurs when Venus and Mercury are placed in (the antaras within) the Cancer aṃśa.

विषशस्त्रमृतिर्घोरा ज्वरदाहसमुद्भवा । अपि नानाविधं दुःखं कुलीरस्वांशके कुजे ॥ १४ ॥
When Mars is in (the antara within) the Cancer aṃśa there is dreadful death by poison or weapon, arising from fever and burning, and also manifold suffering.

विभवस्यातिलाभश्च तथैव च सुखं तनौ । महाराजप्रसादश्च कुलीरस्वांशके गुरौ ॥ १५ ॥
When Jupiter is in (the antara within) the Cancer aṃśa there is abundant gain of opulence, bodily comfort, and the favour of a great king.

Śloka 16 — Cancer aṃśa — Saturn antara
वातव्याधिभवं दुःखमहिवृश्चिकदंशजम् । नानाक्लेशमवाप्नोति कुलीरस्वांशगे शनौ ॥ १६ ॥
When Saturn is in (the antara within) the Cancer aṃśa one meets with suffering arising from wind-borne disease, from the sting of snakes and scorpions, and with afflictions of many kinds.

Śloka 17 — Leo (Siṃha) aṃśa — Mars antara
ज्वरपित्तभवो रोगः शस्त्रक्षतिविसूचिकाः । मुखरोगस्य वा वाऽसिर्मृगेन्द्रस्वांशगे कुजे ॥ १७ ॥
When Mars is in (the antara within) the Leo aṃśa there is disease born of fever and bile, weapon-wounds and cholera, or (an outbreak) of mouth-disease, or (injury by) a sword.

Śloka 18 — Leo aṃśa — Venus and Mercury antaras
लाभो दारसुतादेश्च विद्याभरणवाससाम् । मृगेन्द्रस्वांशके शुक्रबुधयोः संस्थितौ द्विज ! ॥ १८ ॥
O twice-born one (Maitreya)! When Venus and Mercury are placed in (the antaras within) the Leo aṃśa, there is gain of wife, sons and the like, and of learning, ornaments and garments.

वृक्षादेः पतनं द्रव्यनाशो भीतिस्तथैव च । भवेद्देशपरित्यागो मृगेन्द्रे स्वांशगे विधौ ॥ १९ ॥
When the Moon is in (the antara within) the Leo aṃśa there occurs a fall from a tree or the like, loss of goods, fear, and abandonment of one's country.

When the Sun is in (the antara within) the Leo aṃśa there is great fear from enemies, fever and disease, ignorance, and fear of death.

धनधान्यमहालाभः प्रसादो द्विजदेवयोः । विद्याविवृद्धिर्विपुला, मृगेन्द्रस्वांशगे गुरौ ॥ २१ ॥
When Jupiter is in (the antara within) the Leo aṃśa there is great gain of wealth and grain, the favour of the twice-born and of the gods, and abundant increase of learning.

Śloka 22 — Virgo (Kanyā) aṃśa — Saturn antara
प्रयाणं च ज्वरं चैव क्षुद्भयं वैकल्यं तथा । व्याधिदुःखमवाप्नोति कन्यायां स्वांशगे शनौ ॥ २२ ॥
When Saturn is in (the antara within) the Virgo aṃśa one meets with travel, fever, fear of hunger, disability, and the suffering of disease.

नृपप्रसादतो लाभ ऐश्वर्यं बन्धुसम्भवम् । सद्विद्याया विवृद्धिश्च कन्यास्वांशगते गुरौ ॥ २३ ॥
When Jupiter has gone into (the antara within) the Virgo aṃśa there is gain through the king's favour, lordship arising through kinsmen, and increase of good learning.

प्रयाणं च ज्वरश्चैव मसूरी वह्नितो भयम् । शस्त्राघाताद् भवेन्मृत्युः कन्यास्वांशगते कुजे ॥ २४ ॥
When Mars has gone into (the antara within) the Virgo aṃśa there is travel, fever, smallpox, fear from fire, and death may come from a blow of a weapon.

दारपुत्रार्थसंलाभो लाभो भूषणवाससोः । सुबुद्धिः सुखवृद्धिश्च तुलास्वांशगते भृगौ ॥ २७ ॥
When Venus has gone into (the antara within) the Libra aṃśa there is gain of wife, sons and wealth, gain of ornaments and garments, sound intelligence, and increase of happiness.

When Mars has gone into (the antara within) the Libra aṃśa there is affliction to the father, quarrel with friends, headache and fever, and injury arising from weapon or fire.

Destruction of disease, great well-being, and abundance of manifold wealth and pleasure — such is the result when Venus, Mercury and the Moon have gone into (the antaras within) the Scorpio aṃśa.

शत्रुक्षोभो भयं व्याधेरर्थनाशः पितुर्भयम् । हिंस्रजीवादपि भयं वृश्चिकस्वांशगे रवौ ॥ ३३ ॥
When the Sun is in (the antara within) the Scorpio aṃśa there is agitation from enemies, fear of disease, destruction of wealth, danger to the father, and fear also from predatory creatures.

When Saturn is in (the antara within) the Scorpio aṃśa there is destruction of wealth and kinsmen, agitation, mental anguish, harassment by enemies, and grave illness.

अतिदाहो ज्वरः छर्दिर्मुखरोगोऽतिकष्टदः । क्लेशः शरीरेऽप्यधिकश्चापस्वांशगते कुजे ॥ ३७ ॥
When Mars has gone into (the antara within) the Sagittarius aṃśa there is excessive burning, fever, vomiting, a most painful mouth-disease, and great affliction in the body as well.

Good fortune in wealth and learning, destruction of enemies, and happiness for men — such is the result when Venus, Mercury and the Moon have gone into (the antaras within) the Sagittarius aṃśa.

जायावित्तविनाशश्च कलहश्च नृपाद् भयम् । देशान्तरे च गमनं चापस्वांशगते रवौ ॥ ३९ ॥
When the Sun has gone into (the antara within) the Sagittarius aṃśa there is destruction of wife and wealth, quarrel, fear from the king, and travel to another country.

द्विजदेवनृपक्रोधो बन्धूनां च विनाशनम् । स्वदेशस्य परित्यागो मृगस्वांशगते शनौ ॥ ४१ ॥
When Saturn has gone into (the antara within) the Capricorn aṃśa there is the anger of the twice-born, the gods and the king, destruction of kinsmen, and abandonment of one's own country.

Worship of the gods, austerity, meditation, and honour from the king — such is the result when Venus, Mercury, the Moon and Jupiter have gone into (the antaras within) the Capricorn aṃśa.

शिरोरोगो ज्वरश्चैव करपादगतं क्षतम् । रक्तपित्तातिसाराश्च, मृगस्वांशगते कुजे ॥ ४३ ॥
When Mars has gone into (the antara within) the Capricorn aṃśa there is headache and fever, wounds on the hands and feet, and bleeding-bile disorders and dysentery.

बन्धुपुत्रपितॄणां च नाशो ज्वरसमाश्रयः । नृपशत्रुभयं चैव मृगस्वांशगते शनौ ॥ ४४ ॥
When Saturn has gone into (the antara within) the Capricorn aṃśa there is the loss of kinsmen, sons and father, an onset of fever, and fear from the king and from enemies.

When Venus has gone into (the antara within) the Aquarius aṃśa there is gain of manifold learning and wealth, and lordship arising through son, wife and friends, and gain of riches.

जायासुखं तथा विद्यालाभो व्याधिविनाशनम् । मनःप्रसादो मित्राप्तिरिन्दौ मीनांशगे सति ॥ ५० ॥
When the Moon is in (the antara within) the Pisces aṃśa there is happiness from the wife, gain of learning, destruction of disease, serenity of mind, and the winning of friends.

When Mercury and Venus have gone into (the antaras within) the Pisces aṃśa there is destruction of enemies, victory, the coming of cattle, land and sons, and gain of gems.

Śloka 53 — Pisces aṃśa — Mars antara
पित्तरोगो विवादश्च बन्धुभिः सह सर्वदा । शत्रुभ्यश्च भयप्राप्तिर्मीनस्वांशगते कुजे ॥ ५३ ॥
When Mars has gone into (the antara within) the Pisces aṃśa there is bilious disease, constant dispute with kinsmen, and the coming of fear from enemies.

Śloka 54 — Pisces aṃśa — Jupiter antara
धनधान्यकलत्राणां लाभो राजप्रसन्नता । वस्त्राभरणलाभश्च मीनस्वांशगते गुरौ ॥ ५४ ॥
When Jupiter has gone into (the antara within) the Pisces aṃśa there is gain of wealth, grain and a wife, the king's graciousness, and gain of garments and ornaments.

Śloka 55 — Pisces aṃśa — Saturn antara
ऐश्वर्यस्य विनाशश्च वैश्यादीनां प्रसङ्गतः । देशत्यागोऽपि दारिद्र्यं मीनस्वांशगते शनौ ॥ ५५ ॥
When Saturn has gone into (the antara within) the Pisces aṃśa there is destruction of prosperity through association with vaiśyas and the like, and also abandonment of one's country, and poverty.

Śloka 56 — Parāśara's summation — the same method applies to the vāma (anti-clockwise) cycle
एवं यथाक्रमेणैव विज्ञेयं स्वांशगे फलम् । वामर्क्षेऽप्येवमेव स्यादन्तर्भुक्तिफलं बुधैः ॥ ५६ ॥
Parāśara said: Thus, in due order, is the result to be known when (a graha's rāśi) falls in its own aṃśa. In the vāma (reverse-order) rāśi cycle too the wise should reckon the antardaśā results in just the same way.

Śloka 57 — Daśā results are the fruition of past karma
दशाफलं निगदितं पुण्यपापकृतं पुरा । तत्सर्वं प्राणिभिर्नित्यं प्राप्यते नात्र संशयः ॥ ५७ ॥
The results of the daśās have been declared; they are produced by the merit and demerit performed formerly. All of that is invariably experienced by living beings — of this there is no doubt.

Śloka 58 — Antardaśā of a friend, enemy or neutral graha; śānti for adverse grahas
सुहृदन्तर्दशा भव्या विरुद्धा शत्रुसम्भवा । मध्यमा मध्यखेटस्य दशादीनामयं क्रमः ॥ ५८ ॥ विरुद्धफलदानां तु खेटानां शान्तिमाचरेत् ।
The antardaśā of a friendly (graha) is auspicious; that arising from an enemy is adverse; that of a neutral graha is middling. This is the rule for the daśās and the rest. But for those grahas that give adverse results one should perform a śānti (propitiatory) rite.

Śloka 58½ (unnumbered half-verse after 58) — Remedial injunction — perform śānti for the grahas giving adverse results
विरुद्धफलदानां तु खेटानां शान्तिमाचरेत् ।
But for those grahas that give adverse results one should perform a śānti (propitiatory rite).
